Israeli Prices Drop--First Time Since 1977

JERUSALEM —
Consumer prices in Israel, where inflation reached 450% in 1984, fell last month for the first time since January, 1977, the government statistics office said today.
A spokesman for the Central Bureau of Statistics said the prices declined by 1.3% in January because of a drop in housing costs and lower prices for clothing. Inflation for all of 1985 was 185.2%.
