Share

Four of the top 10 women’s teams in college gymnastics--Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, Nebraska and host UCLA--will compete tonight in the 10th annual UCLA/Times Invitational at Pauley Pavilion.

Third-ranked Arizona State has all six gymnasts from the team that finished second last year in the NCAA meet. Sixth-ranked Cal State Fullerton has Taunia Roger, the all-around winner in last year’s invitational. Nebraska is the 10th-ranked team in the country.

UCLA, ranked No. 7, will be led by freshman Tanya Service and Gigi Zosa. Zosa finished 28th in the Olympic all-around competition as a member of the Canadian team but Service has eclipsed her at the college level and has scored the best all-around mark in the nation this season.

In an exhibition, Tracee Talavera, a member of the U.S. Olympic gold-medal winning team, will perform on the beam. Talavera is a student at UCLA but has been unable to compete because of outside commitments.

The meet will begin at 7:30.
