Puerto Rico Hunts Illegal Immigrants
Police Sunday were seeking a group of illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic.
Police officials in the town of Arecibo, 48 miles east of San Juan, said the search began after 14 Dominicans were arrested Saturday night when a bus driver and a prison guard saw them at a restaurant.
Authorities said another group of illegal immigrants was seen heading for San Juan by car.
Hundreds of Dominican nationals try to enter Puerto Rico every year by crossing the dangerous Mona Channel separating the U.S. commonwealth from the Dominican Republic.
