Shipboard Murderer Transferred to Norfolk

NEWPORT, R.I. —
Petty Officer 3rd Class Mitchell Garraway, of Suitland, Md., sentenced to life in prison for killing an officer aboard ship, was transferred Wednesday to the Naval Station in Norfolk, Va., pending an appeals process that could take years, authorities said.
Garraway, 22, was sentenced Tuesday night for the murder of Lt. James Sterner, 35.
