Burbank Airport and Margie Gee

I am appalled at the situation facing the Burbank City Council over the appointment of Margie Gee as a commissioner of the Burbank Airport Authority. It is obvious to anyone who attends the twice-monthly meetings of the authority that she is the only commissioner consistently concerned with how the airport affects, and will affect, the quality of life in Burbank.

The subtle and not so subtle efforts of those in city positions to sabotage her effectiveness in our behalf to control the airport are shameful. She is a sincere and knowledgeable representative of all the people in Burbank and is simply trying to return the reins of control to our city.

It is apparent to concerned parties that leaving airport control in the hands of those who don’t even live here will automatically lead to further development of and expansion of airport activities. The airport is in Burbank, and naturally we have more to lose because of this. The City Council must be aware of this and protect the residents by allowing her voice to remain on the authority.
