A 17-year-old Washington state girl was found wandering in Fresno after escaping from a trucker she said kidnaped her and held her hostage in handcuffs for a week. A security guard found the girl in a park near the county courthouse. Her hands were still handcuffed behind her back. “She had been traumatized and was very upset,” sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Haggler said. Her parents talked to their daughter by telephone from their home near Seattle. They said she apparently was given enough food by her abductor and was not physically harmed. “It sounds like she was the kidnap victim of some guy who was a little off his rocker,” said the victim’s mother. “The guy kept calling her Jessie and seemed to think she was his fiancee.” The girl said she fled after her abductor fell asleep in his truck-trailer rig, which had “Joe and Jessie” written on the doors.
