An explosion and fire at an electrical plating company in Glendale shortly before 1 p.m. today seriously injured three people, all employees of the company. The victims, all suffering from third-degree burns, were taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank.
Fifty Glendale firefighters were sent to the scene of the fire, at San Fernando Road and Thompson Avenue. Glendale Battalion Chief David Starr said it appears fammable material and toxics at the plating company contributed to the explosion.
