Top Female Army Officer to Retire After 30 Years

WASHINGTON —
Brig. Gen. Mildred E. Hedberg, the Army’s adjutant general and the nation’s senior ranking female officer, will retire from the Army on Friday. Hedberg is stepping down after more than 30 years of service, the Pentagon said Monday.
