LOS ANGELES COUNTY - News from Feb. 27, 1986

First Interstate Bancorp of Los Angeles named Bruce G. Willison chairman and chief executive of the bank holding company’s Oregon affiliate, effective July 1. He replaces P. W. Wilke Jr., who is retiring.

Willison moves to the First Interstate Bank of Oregon post from his current job as head of First Interstate Bank Ltd., a corporate banking subsidiary based in Los Angeles. He joined the holding company in 1979 as a marketing specialist.

Willison will be succeeded by Harold J. Meyerman, who currently is executive vice president and capital markets manager at First Interstate Bank Ltd.

First Interstate Bancorp also announced the promotion of George Straghlis to senior vice president-international operations and systems.
