Share

Three San Gabriel Valley elementary schools are among 10 Los Angeles County schools nominated for the National Elementary School Recognition Program sponsored by the U. S. Department of Education.

Central Elementary School in the Baldwin Park Unified School District, Chaparral Elementary in the Claremont Unified School District and Valley View Elementary in the Duarte Unified School District are among 47 California elementary schools nominated. This is the first year in which elementary schools have been selected for recognition.

A panel of educational leaders in Washington, D. C., will review each state’s nominations and visit schools. Winning schools, which will receive a commendation from the President, will be announced in June.
