U.N. Official Quits

VIENNA —
Letitia Shehani, an assistant secretary general of the United Nations, has resigned to become a deputy foreign minister of the Philippines, her office said Friday.
Shehani has been director of the U.N. Center for Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs, based in Vienna, since 1981.
