The Travels of Congressmen Dornan and Badham
- Share via
So, Rep. Robert Dornan (R-Garden Grove) broke up his colleagues with laughter on the returning military jet when they left Hanoi last week with his imitation of the crippled Vietnamese officer (Times, Feb. 23).
Earlier, Dornan and his cohorts had broken an agreement with the Vietnamese and bolted into off-limits territory, then when a military guard tried to stop them he put his arm around the crippled Vietnamese officer as if to be friends.
On the jet home Dornan “put on a baseball cap sideways, limped down the aisle and began his mimicking.” This is a U.S. congressman? The same one that grabbed another congressman by the necktie last year and called him a wimp?
He reminds me of the high school bully of yonder years. This out-of-control man has no business representing Orange County in the U.S. House of Representatives. No wonder we’re called the “Ugly American.” Shame on you, Robert Dornan.
