4th-Quarter Net Income $426,000 for Ceradyne

Ceradyne Inc. of Santa Ana said fourth-quarter net income rose to $426,000, compared with $124,000 for the same period a year earlier.

Sales for the quarter totaled $5 million, compared with $3.3 million for the fourth quarter of 1984.

For all of 1985, the maker of ceramic products for the aerospace, defense and electronics industries reported net income of $993,000, compared with $925,000 the prior year. Sales for 1985 were $16.8 million, compared with $12.8 million a year ago.

Joel Moskowitz, president and chief executive, said the company is “moderately optimistic for 1986 based on the current backlog and the recent expansion of our Costa Mesa facility.”
