NASCAR officials have canceled driver Dale Earnhardt’s one-year probation and cut his $5,000 fine to $3,000 after an appeal. Earnhardt’s penalties, for what NASCAR said was reckless driving, had been announced after his collision with Darrell Waltrip in Richmond, Va., last month.
Earnhardt said that he’s still not satisfied, however, and is demanding complete vindication.
