Paramount Pictures, Los Angeles, said Sidney Ganis, a top Lucasfilm executive, has been appointed president of worldwide marketing for the Paramount motion picture group, beginning March 18.

Ganis, 46, succeeds Buffy Shutt, president of marketing, whose resignation was announced simultaneously. The title of president of worldwide marketing has not been used at Paramount since the resignation of Gordon Weaver nearly two years ago.
