Local News in Brief : Wounds Are Critical in Pacoima Shooting
A Pacoima man remained in critical condition on life-support systems Monday after being shot early Sunday, Los Angeles police said.
Detective Al Ferrand said Ramon Flores, 23, was shot once in the upper body about 3:40 a.m. as he sat in a car parked in front of his residence in the 10500 block of Telfair Avenue. Police arrested Jose C. Asencio, 32, also of Pacoima, on suspicion of attempted murder. Asencio is being held without bail in the Foothill Division Jail, Ferrand said.
Police recovered what they believe to be the weapon used in the shooting but knew of no motive, Ferrand said.
Flores was in the intensive care unit of Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills.
