Energy Factors announced in San Diego an agreement in principle to acquire San Francisco-based Cogeneration National Corp., which is developing cogeneration and solar energy facilities in Northern California. Although the companies did not disclose terms of the proposed acquisition--scheduled to be completed during April--Energy Factors will pay cash for Cogeneration National, according to Vice President Rick Kay. Cogeneration National’s major project has been the ongoing development of the Port of Stockton District Energy Facility, a $92-million, 44-megawatt coal-fueled cogeneration plant that uses a fluidized bed combustion system to control pollution.
