Jaime Garza, the fifth-ranked super bantamweight contender by the World Boxing Council, will face Jorge Diaz on April 5 at the Palm Springs Hilton Riviera Hotel. It will be the first professional boxing match at Palm Springs in 10 years, according to promoter Don Fraser.
Garza, of Pacoima, has a 42-1 record with 39 knockouts. Garza, 24, was the WBC super bantamweight champion for a brief period in 1983. He was knocked out by Juan Meza in his first title defense.
