Mudslides Close Mulholland Drive From Woodland Hills to Encino
Hillsides collapsing because of recent rains forced the closure Friday of a rural, five-mile stretch of Mulholland Drive from Woodland Hills east to Encino, Los Angeles police said.
The road, which winds through Topanga State Park in the Santa Monica Mountains, was closed at about 3 p.m., and police said late Friday they did not know when it would be reopened to traffic.
Eight to 10 cars were reportedly stuck in the mud on the road, but no injuries were reported, police said.
