Disneyland Hotel Pay Appeal Taken to Beverly Hills

Share

Dozens of Disneyland Hotel workers marched in front of the hotel’s corporate headquarters in Beverly Hills on Monday, chanting “Show Us Your Green” in their campaign for higher wages.

“The company is offering poverty wages and we’re saying, ‘You guys are millionaires with your offices in Beverly Hills across from Gucci’s,’ ” union spokesman Steve Beyer said of the St. Patrick’s Day demonstration.

The contract for 1,200 hotel service employees expired Feb. 28 and contract talks have stalled. The Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union, which has threatened to strike if a settlement is not reached soon, is urging visitors to boycott the 1,100-room hotel, owned by the Wrather Corp. of Beverly Hills.
