Revised child labor laws will permit some minors in the entertainment industry to work longer hours, an official of the state Division of Labor Standards Enforcement announced in San Francisco. Children between the ages of 9 and 16 will be able to work five hours a day, an hour longer than in the past. This revision, and several others to go into effect April 3, were made in part to encourage television and movie companies to do their filming in California.
