Local News in Brief : Agoura Hills Building Ban Extended to Aug. 1

Share

Atemporary moratorium on new construction in Agoura Hills that is designed to give the city time to draft a zoning ordinance has been extended to Aug. 5.

The City Council voted 4 to 0 for the extension Tuesday night. Council members first authorized the building ban on Feb. 4 to free city planners for the zoning work.

Councilman Ernest Dynda, who opposed the original moratorium, abstained from voting on the extension.

In an unrelated matter, council members voted 5-0 to form an architectural review committee to assist the city Planning Commission in analyzing new projects once the freeze is lifted.

Previously approved industrial buildings have been criticized as boxy and uninspired by some residents of Agoura Hills.
