Caught in ‘Blizzard’

Your March 9 story on the “paper blizzard” from computers brought to mind my visit with the training director of a local company that provides free correspondence courses for its thousands of employees.
He had on his desk a six-inch stack of computer printouts showing test scores of the students and explained that he not yet analyzed the scores for his monthly report to the personnel director.
While he was talking, a young man came into the office carrying yet another stack of printouts and said, “Here is the latest batch of test scores.” The training director looked at me and said, “Let’s go out to lunch!”
