KTLA Channel 5 will be the local TV outlet for the Goodwill Games, the Moscow sporting event that will bring together U.S. and Soviet athletes in world-class, Olympic-style competition for the first time since 1976. During the Games, which will run from July 5-20, KTLA plans 129 hours of coverage.

Donna Mills, who stars in “Knots Landing” on CBS, will turn up on NBC next season. She’s got the lead role in “Encounters,” a TV movie about a woman whose fantasies threaten to ruin her marriage of 15 years.

From “Saturday Night Live” to the White House? That’s the jump that Randy Quaid will be making. Quaid, a regular on the late-night NBC comedy series this season, has been signed to play former President Lyndon Johnson in “LBJ,” a three-hour biography of the late politician that will air on NBC. It will trace Johnson’s career from 1934 through his ascension to the presidency in 1963.
