The following message was sent on commercial teletype Monday, several hours after U.S. ships first entered the Gulf of Sidra:
From Commander in Chief of the Libyan Arab Air Force
To Commander of Sixth Fleet
Unless the aggressive acts are stopped against Jamahariya (Libya) we are bound to destroy the CV (aircraft) carriers Stop In doing that will have the political and military support of the world states Stop Maintain in peace you will leave in peace Stop Best regards
