NEW ORLEANS —
Secret Service agents today arrested a man on a charge of carrying a concealed pistol outside the downtown Hilton Hotel where President Reagan was about to speak, police said.
Ronald Wilson, 33, of Ferriday, was in custody on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon, a .25-caliber automatic, said police spokesman John Marie. He said it was verified that Wilson is a special sheriff’s deputy and ambulance driver but that police had not determined whether Wilson’s status included authorization to carry a gun.
