U.S. Action Against Libya

Share

Once again the United States has taken military action for which other countries will have to pay the price. The provocation against Kadafi and the sinking of Libyan vessels cannot and will not stay without retaliation, from Kadafi’s point of view. But, as we have seen many times before, Kadafi will not retaliate in the United States directly, but rather on the U.S. allies in Europe with acts of terrorism, which will once again leave innocent non-American citizens dead.

I, as a West German citizen, have to take a very critical stand against the U.S. government. Knowing that Kadafi will with great likelihood strike in Europe for crossing the “line of death,” the United States still decided to go ahead with these provocations without consulting her European allies.

With how many Romes and Viennas will Europe have to pay for the President’s wish to stand up to Libya? How long will Europe have to live in the greatest fear of terrorist attacks for the United States defending waters that have no strategic meaning for us?

Once again, just as the placing of nuclear weapons into Europe, the European countries have no choice but to pay the price for war games.
