Strike at U.S. Bases Ends

SUBIC BAY NAVAL BASE, Philippines —
Radical union leaders agreed today to accept an accord ending a 13-day-old strike by 24,000 Filipino workers at the country’s U.S. military installations.
A crowd of about 3,000 workers cheered and set off firecrackers in celebration at Subic Bay Naval Base’s main gate when officials announced that the walkout was over. Moderate labor leaders earlier accepted an accord reached by U.S. and Filipino officials.
