A group of 52 prominent conservatives appealed to President Reagan today to sell advanced fighter aircraft to Taiwan to offset a proposed sale to China of $550 million in American fighter technology.

The conservatives said in a letter to Reagan that they are “deeply concerned” about the proposed sale to Peking and “how such sales will negatively impact on the security of the Republic of China in Taiwan.” The signers of the letter included the Rev. Jerry Falwell, Richard Viguerie and Paul M. Weyrich.
