Thanks for printing that simply splendid piece on Yoko Ono. Just when I think that Hilburn may have lost his touch, he blesses us with a mercilessly long-winded, drawn-out dissertation on the hardships of a washed-up, talentless multimillionairess.

I tell you, his heartfelt and sincere account of her troubled, minimally-attended tour really had my heart bleeding for the woman who spans the globe, wowing audiences with an emotion-drenched rendition of “Imagine.” It really burns me up to think that people accuse her of capitalizing on her deceased husband’s fame.

Thank goodness Calendar has the keen insight to allow Hilburn to devour the bulk of the Pop Music section with his vitally impactive, intrusive essay on a true victim of our vicious, uncaring culture.
