The Georgia Board of Regents voted to accept the resignation of Fred Davison, University of Georgia president who quit amid a scandal involving preferential treatment being given to student-athletes.
Davison, president of the school for 19 years, offered his resignation last month after the regents had voted to reappoint the presidents of 31 other Georgia universities and colleges but deferred action on his contract.
