Bomb at La Palma School Proves Fake
A fake bomb placed next to a row of lockers forced police to evacuate students at Walker Junior High School in La Palma on Thursday morning. School administrators discovered the device about 10 a.m., Police Lt. Vincent Giampa said.
Police and a Sheriff’s Department bomb squad ordered the school evacuated, secured the area and recovered the fake bomb--made of plastic pipe, tape, wires, a battery and a wristwatch--about noon. Police have arrested a student for making and placing the device, Giampa said.
