Pre-Summit Talks May 14-16

WASHINGTON —
Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard A. Shevardnadze will visit Washington May 14-16 for talks to prepare for a superpower meeting, Ambassador Anatoly F. Dobrynin said today.
Dobrynin told reporters after a meeting with Secretary of State George P. Shultz that Shevardnadze “will meet with him on the 14th, 15th and 16th.” He declined to answer further questions. It was his last meeting with Shultz after 24 years as ambassador before returning to Moscow tonight to take up a more senior post.
