Land development takes many forms.

Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier has broken ground for two innovative land uses. Known as The Gardens and Heritage Terrace, the new projects will offer wide choices, from private family mausoleums to a lawn with spaces where ashes of cremated remains can be scattered, and a memorial wall for the inscriptions of names of decedents.

According to Dennis C. Poulsen, president and chief executive officer of Rose Hills, The Gardens and Heritage Terrace are the first major additions to the memorial park in more than 10 years, and will serve as trend setters in future cemetery planning.
