UCLA scored six runs in the third inning Saturday en route to an 8-7 Pacific 10 Southern Division win over USC at Jackie Robinson Field.

With the score tied, 1-1, Steve Hisey started the Bruin rally with a two-run home run, his second homer in as many games. Later in the third inning, Torey Lovullo made it 5-1 with a two-run single, and Brian Brooks closed out the rally with another two-run single.

After John Joslyn’s solo home run in the fifth gave UCLA an 8-2 lead, USC scored two runs in the seventh and three in the ninth. But Bill Wenrick relieved Randy Hennis in the ninth and got his third save by inducing Don Buford to ground into a game-ending double play.
