Lovullo Has Four Hits as UCLA Beats USC for Seventh Straight Time

Torey Lovullo had four hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs Sunday to lead UCLA to a come-from-behind 12-10 victory over USC in a Pacific 10 Conference Southern Division baseball game.
Lovullo, who hit a solo homer in the fifth, had a run-scoring single in a four-run eighth that proved to be the difference for the Bruins.
Todd Zeile had two hits, included in a two-run homer, and three RBIs for UCLA, which has won nine conference games in a row and has an 11-5 mark in Pac-10 play. The Bruins are 26-15 overall and have now defeated the Trojans seven straight times.
Scott Sommers had three hits and Terry Brown hit a two-run homer for USC, which fell to 8-12 in conference, 19-20 overall.
Keith Shibata (2-0) earned the win as UCLA’s fourth of five pitchers. John Reilley (1-4) took the loss.
UCLA fell behind 8-6 after six innings before getting two runs in the seventh and four in the eighth.
