“The Sword in the Stone.” Disney. $79.95. This talky, episodic feature fails to capture the majesty of the legend of King Arthur. The 1963 film contains one brilliant sequence that demonstrates the power of animation to depict the fantastic, the Wizards’ Duel, in which Merlin and the evil Mad Madame Mim fight by transforming themselves into various animals. Nothing else approaches that level of imagination and excitement, and the result is a mildly amusing but rather pedestrian diversion for children and hard-core Disney fans.
