A Morongo Valley man convicted for his part in helping to steal 10 million gallons of crude oil from an interstate pipeline was sentenced in Los Angeles federal court to four years in prison and fined $100,000. U.S. District Judge A. Wallace Tashima also ordered Konrad Edi Praeger, 35, to serve five years’ probation after he gets out of prison. Praeger was accused in a federal indictment with helping haul $4 million in crude from an illegal tap on an Arco pipeline north of Palm Springs to independent refineries. Three others, Mose Allen Geter, 44, of Morongo Valley and his two sons, Mose Allen Geter Jr., 25, and Christopher Darrin Geter, 23, both of Palm Springs, were indicted along with Praeger. Christopher Geter has pleaded guilty and faces sentencing on May 12. The others are awaiting trial.
