Women are denied equal justice and opportunity because of pervasive sexual discrimination by male judges, lawyers and court officers, a New York state task force said. In a report from the 23-member New York Task Force on Women in the Courts, statistics showed female litigants and lawyers sometimes were treated “like burdensome children” or “sexual objects” and “routinely” were demeaned and treated patronizingly by men in the judicial system.
