“Slow Train Coming,” Bob Dylan. CBS. Many Dylan traditionalists from the ‘60s were so angered and/or confused by the singer-songwriter’s aggressive “born-again” Christian commentaries on this 1979 LP that they hated everything about it. Now that time has reduced the culture shock and Dylan has stepped down from that podium, it’s easier for everyone to see the strengths of what was possibly his most passionate and provocative LP of the ‘70s. Songs like “I Believe in You” reflect the honesty and poetic grace of Dylan’s finest work. Available as an English import. 1/2
