Fumes From Explosion of Chemical Tanks Sicken 24

WOBURN, Mass. —
Two chemical tanks in a space research laboratory exploded Wednesday, blowing a hole in the roof and releasing fumes that sickened at least 24 people. The blast at CVD Inc. apparently was sparked when a hydrogen line ruptured during experiments on mirrors for National Aeronautics and Space Administration satellites, fire officials said.
