Lockheed has agreed to a $10-million settlement for the survivors of 76 Vietnamese children killed in the crash of a U.S. transport plane outside Saigon 11 years ago, lawyers involved in the case said today.

They said the proposed settlement, which must be court-approved, would mark the end of a long legal battle over the crash of the U.S. Air Force Lockheed C5-A used in “Operation Babylift” in the closing days of U.S. involvement in Vietnam.
