Actor Gene Hackman rolled a car he was driving in a six-hour endurance race Saturday night but was not hurt in the accident at Sears Point International Raceway near Sonoma, Calif.

Hackman, 55, who starred in the films “The French Connection” and “I Never Sang for My Father,” said the brakes on his Audi Quantro apparently locked midway through the race, causing the car to roll onto its top.

“I would have liked to have a stunt driver for that one,” said Hackman, who was leading the race at the time of the mishap.
