Construction is under way on the Culver City Royale, the latest in a network of 27 retirement hotels being built by Culver City-based Goldrich & Kest Industries.
The firm plans to break ground on six Royale facilities this year, representing an investment of about $30 million. These include the facility in Culver City as well as hotels in Tustin, Van Nuys, Thousand Oaks, Anaheim and Moraga.
The $5-million Culver City Royale is being built by Prestige Homes, a subsidiary of Goldrich & Kest, on portions of the former MGM studio back lot.
Designed by architects Robbins & Bown in contemporary Spanish style with a red-tile roof and gables, the L-shaped, two-story building will have 97 guest rooms in its 50,000 square feet of space.
