A knife-wielding man and an actor known for action-packed scenes on film became part of a real-life drama, Palm Springs police reported. Actor Tom Laughlin, star of the movie “Billy Jack,” was allegedly challenged to a fight as he pulled his car into a drugstore parking lot. John Shute, 22, a Palm Springs resident, reportedly then drew a knife, and according to one eyewitness, Laughlin responded: “If you make another move, I’m going to take your arm and dislocate it.” Shute backed off and Laughlin made a citizen’s arrest, police said. Shute was booked on suspicion of brandishing a knife and released on his own recognizance.
