Mexico Beats Hamburg in Soccer Match, 2-0
Carlos Munoz scored in the 32nd minute of the first half Sunday, and it was all goalie Olaf Heredia needed as Mexico’s national soccer team defeated Hamburg of West Germany, 2-0, in an international soccer exhibition Sunday night at the Coliseum.
An estimated crowd of 16,000 watched as Mexico won its 17th consecutive exhibition match there.
Mexico’s other score came in the 43rd minute of the second half when Hamburg defender Jens Duve accidentally kicked the ball into his own net.
