Tito Horford, the 7-foot-1 center who was enrolled briefly at Houston and LSU before settling at Miami, will become eligible to play for the Hurricanes this season after the fall semester, the NCAA ruled.
Horford, a native of the Dominican Republic and a 1985 graduate of Marian Christian High School in Houston, was suspended for the fall semester because of “minor” NCAA violations that occurred while he played for a club team in his native country.
Horford can begin playing Dec. 18 and will have four years of eligibility. He will miss between four and six games.
