The Arcadia City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency, has voted to meet with Emkay Development Co. to discuss its proposal for the 3rd Avenue/Huntington Drive North Side project. Emkay has proposed a 176-room, 139,600-square-foot, seven-story hotel; a 9,600-square-foot restaurant; and three office buildings containing 86,520 square feet. The project, scheduled for completion in 1994, would generate an estimated $197,000 in tax increments annually for the agency and $25,000 in sales tax and $150,000 in bed tax to the city.

The agency approved an agreement with Stanley W. Gribble & Associates for a commercial mixed-use development on the south side of Huntington Drive east of 2nd Avenue. The developer plans 88,500 square feet of office space, 36,165 square feet of retail space and 17,243 square feet of restaurant space. Construction is scheduled to be completed in three years.
