Dana Point
Man Surrenders: A Dana Point man who allegedly threatened suicide in a call to a war veterans’ group was coaxed out of his home by sheriff’s deputies, who found about 50 weapons inside, deputies reported Wednesday. The unidentified man, a 52-year-old Vietnam veteran, was taken to South Coast Medical Center in South Laguna for observation Tuesday night after he surrendered. The pistols and rifles in his home, which were all registered legally and apparently part of a collection, were confiscated because of the man’s apparent instability, officials said.
