Marcos Spent $449,000 on Flowers, Official Says

MANILA —
Deposed President Ferdinand E. Marcos spent $449,000 on flowers for the presidential palace and the houses of his three children last year, government television said today.
It quoted Audit Commissioner Teofesto Guingona as saying Marcos, using public funds, spent $18 million on his family in 1985, including $3.04 million for clothes, handicrafts and household items, $995,000 for food and hotel expenses and $4.7 million for chartered airline flights.
